(1) Service Introduction

Unaccompanied minors refer to those who are traveling without an adult and specifically: healthy children aged 5 to under 12 years; healthy young passengers aged 12 to under 18 years; young passengers aged 16 to under 18 years traveling with a vision or hearing impairment or an illness. The above age limits are applicable at the time of travel.

The Unaccompanied Minor Service must be requested for children aged 5 to under 12 years who are traveling alone.

Unaccompanied young passengers who are healthy and aged 12 to under 18 years, or aged 16 to under 18 years and traveling alone with a vision or hearing impairment or an illness, may apply for the Unaccompanied Minor Service by themselves.

Children aged under 5 years, and minors aged under 16 years of age with a vision or hearing impairment or an illness are not permitted to travel unaccompanied.

(2) Eligibility

Air China's mobile platform only supports applications for the "Unaccompanied Minor Service" for children aged 5 to 18 years old on single-leg direct flights, same-day connecting flights, and overnight connecting flights with a total transit time of no more than 5 hours (inclusive) and a minimum layover time of 2.5 hours. If a passenger holds a round-trip ticket and wishes to apply for the "Unaccompanied Minor Service" for the entire journey, separate applications must be submitted for each segment. For passengers traveling to multiple destinations and applying for the Unaccompanied Minor Service, please visit any of Air China's directly operated sales offices to process the application.

(3) Application deadline

Not later than 16:00 (inclusive) on the day prior to the scheduled flight departure.

(4) Quantity Restrictions

Air China can accommodate up to five unaccompanied minors aged 5 to 7 years per flight. There is no limit on the number of unaccompanied minors aged 8 (including on their birthday) or older.

(5) Applicable Fares

1. Domestic one-way direct flights: For unaccompanied minors aged 5 to 11 years, child ticket fares are priced at 50% of the standard adult ticket fare for the same flight. Different discount rates are available for other ticket fares. Tickets for passengers aged 12 to 17 years are priced at the applicable adult fare.

2. Fares for international and regional tickets are set in accordance with the applicable terms of use.

(6) Service fee

1. Domestic routes: Unaccompanied minors aged 5 to 11 years are not required to pay a service fee. Passengers aged 12 to 17 years are required to pay a service fee of CNY 200 per flight segment.

2. International and regional routes:Service fee of CNY 260 per flight segment

3.For connecting flights with interline segments: A service fee of RMB 260 per flight segment must be paid by the passenger, with the total amount accumulated for the entire journey.

(7) Changes and Cancellation of Service

1. Changes
Due to the limited capacity for UM services and the "Air China Junior" service, if there is a change in the ticket, the original service cannot be changed automatically and needs to be reapplied for within the specified time. Special Note: If the itinerary is changed due to non-voluntary reasons such as flight adjustments, the service also needs to be reapplied for.

2. Cancellation
For passengers aged 5 to 12: If the unaccompanied minor service is cancelled for this age group and there is no adult accompanying them, the airline will not transport them. Additionally, when the ticket is refunded, the unaccompanied minor service will be automatically cancelled. For passengers aged 12 to 18: For this age group, the unaccompanied minor service can be cancelled if the ticket has not been used.

(8) Instructions for Boarding and Check-in

Once the service application is successful, electronic versions of the 《UM Application Form》 and 《UM Identification Tag》 will be sent to your registered email address. Please note:
For one-way trips, you need to print 5 copies of the 《UM Application Form》 and 1 copy of the 《UM Identification Tag》;
For connecting trips, you need to print 7 copies of the 《UM Application Form》 and 1 copy of the 《UM Identification Tag》.
The above documents must be presented when checking in at the airport. Additionally, please arrive at the departure airport to complete the check-in process no later than 120 minutes before the scheduled departure time of your flight.

Ticket bookings for children may be made using a valid ID document such as an ID card, household register (under 16 years of age) or passport, and the original documents used to make the booking must be provided when checking in. Please be reminded that children should avoid carrying valuables or important documents when traveling.

For pick-up and drop-off, the person accompanying the child must bring a valid original ID to complete the procedures at the airport. The person dropping off the child should stay at the airport until the flight departs.

The person responsible for handing over the unaccompanied minors to Air China shall be the minors' parent, relative or delegate authorized by the guardian, and the person responsible for picking up the minors shall be at least 18 years old and have full capacity for civil behavior.

(9) Reminders

1. Air China will only accept applications for special services on flights operated by Air China.

2. Endorsement of tickets for which a special service has been requested is not permitted. If alterations are required, the special service must be reapplied for.

3. Please consult the Air China online customer service for fare information applicable to passengers applying for special services.
