①What conditions must my ticket meet in order to book a Preferred Seat?
Economy Class tickets held by an adult or child passenger,
for flights operated by Air China with ticket numbers starting with “999” and flight number starting with “CA”. Codeshare flights are not eligible.

We offer free and Preferred Seat pre-selection options on flights operated by Air China.
The specific details for each flight are shown in your itinerary.
Due to flight safety requirements, we may disable seat pre-selection for some flights. Thank you for your understanding.

③When can I book a Preferred Seat selectionPreferred Seat?
Preferred SeatPaid seat selection is available for some seats from the time you book your ticket until check-in for the flight closes.
If you have already checked in, you will not be able to book a Preferred Seat.
Purchase deadlines for individual flights may be earlier, please refer to the system requirements at the actual time of purchase and the information provided by staff.

Advance Seat Selection Rules

  •      Limitations
  • 1. Applicable tickets: Tickets with ticket numbers starting with "999".
    2. Applicable flights: Direct flights with CA codes and actually carried by Air China, code sharing flights are not applicable.
    3. Applicable cabin: Economy class.
    4. Purchase deadline: After purchasing the ticket, until the deadline for registering for the flight. The sales deadline for individual flights may be advanced. Please refer to the system prompt and staff notification at the time of actual purchase.
    5. Applicable passengers: adult and child passengers.
    According to the regulations of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, if passengers choose emergency exit seats, they must be at least 15 years old and under 65 years old at the time of boarding, meet the relevant conditions, and be willing and able to fulfill their corresponding obligations. Please consult each purchasing channel for detailed requirements. For safety reasons, the backrest of some emergency exit seats may not be adjustable. Please purchase at your discretion.
    7. After check-in, economy class seat selection products cannot be purchased. If you need to purchase, please cancel check-in first.
    If you are a member of the Phoenix Zhiyin Platinum Card of Air China, you will enjoy the right to choose an economy class seat for free. Please choose a seat as soon as possible after purchasing the ticket. Product inventory is limited, first come, first served.
    If you need a product invoice, you can call 95583-1-5 within 45 days after using the product, or issue a product invoice by clicking on the "reimbursement voucher" on Air China Mobile.
    The prices and applicable routes of all economy class seat selection products are subject to the display at the time of purchase.
    You can apply to the staff to purchase economy class seat selection products when checking in at the airport.
  •      Flight routes offering the service
  • International direct flights and some connecting flights operated by Air China. Prices and applicable routes for all Preferred Seat are as shown at the time of booking.
    It is not possible to book seats onboard international flight which include domestic segments.
    Self-service channel purchases are not currently available for flights departing from Daegu, Pyongyang, Yangon, and Ulaanbaatar. Onboard seat pre-selection is not currently offered for some open-jaw flights (Beijing–Minsk–Budapest–Beijing, Beijing–Islamabad–Karachi–Beijing). You may request a paid seat from staff when checking in at the airport.
  •       Reminders
  • 1. Here, you have only selected a seat on board in advance, and you still need to check in before the flight takes off.
    2. Your seat number may be changed due to changes in flight, aircraft type, or airline safety or operational reasons. We will do our best to arrange other equally valuable seats for you; If you change to a lower value seat, you can apply for a refund from the original purchasing channel and apply for an electronic service compensation voucher that is equal to the value of the purchased seat (including passengers who purchase seats using mileage or vouchers).     3. The economy class seat selection product currently only supports single seat booking at a time. When the seat is changed, single seat adjustments will also be made.
    4. Economy class seat selection products will provide you with the opportunity to reserve seats in advance, and you can choose large space seats or front seats according to your own needs. However, due to airline safety and special service guarantees, not all economy class seats in the cabin are pre selected with advance payment. During the check-in process, some paid seats may be opened for other passengers to check in on their own. Please decide whether to pre select seats based on your actual situation.
    5. If you successfully purchase an emergency exit seat, you will not be able to check in through self-service channels and must go to the check-in counter to check in.
    6. If you have any questions during the process of purchasing or using economy class seat selection products, please pay attention to saving relevant information (such as system error screenshots, boarding passes or photos, etc.) and call 95583 for inquiries. Air China will assist you in verifying the specific situation as soon as possible and provide a solution.

  •      Regulations for refunds, rescheduling, and endorsements
  • (1) Economy class seat selection service products are not allowed to be transferred.
    (2) Economy class seat selection service products do not allow rescheduling or seat changes. If passengers have a need to reschedule their tickets, they must unsubscribe from the economy class seat selection service products they have purchased, change the ticket date, and then pay again to choose a seat.
    (3) This product follows the principle of "where to purchase, where to unsubscribe". Unsubscribe will not be charged for the time being.
    (4) Seat selection products can be refunded beyond 6 hours prior to flight departure. If check-in has already been processed, product unsubscription needs to be processed after canceling check-in. Products cannot be returned within 6 hours prior to flight departure unless there are special circumstances.
    (5) Passengers can unsubscribe through the original purchasing channel or contact 95583 for consultation when unsubscribing within the time limit.
    (6) Special circumstances that are not subject to the time limit for unsubscribing:
    1. Due to involuntary reasons such as airline model adjustments, passengers are unable to enjoy seats of equal or higher value, and seat selection products can be refunded.
    2. Passengers who purchase economy class seat selection services for related flight segment refunds or changes can have their seat selection products refunded.
    3. If a passenger purchases an emergency exit seat and is found at the check-in counter or cabin that does not meet the conditions for taking an emergency exit seat, it is necessary to arrange for a large space of equal value seats for the passenger as much as possible. If equal or higher value seats cannot be guaranteed, the seat selection product can be refunded.
    4. If passengers purchase higher value seat products such as paid upgrades, EXST additional seat occupancy, or CBBG luggage seat occupancy, seat selection products can be refunded.
    5. After purchasing the product, if the passenger successfully applies for a baby cradle and is finally arranged to the baby cradle position, the selected seat product can be refunded.
    6. After the departure time of the flight, if the passenger misses the flight and has not processed the ticket refund procedures, the seat selection fee cannot be refunded separately. If the ticket has been cancelled or rescheduled, the product can be refunded.
    7. If the passenger's description of the seat service bell being unable to be used, air conditioning port malfunction, lighting malfunction, entertainment equipment malfunction, seat backrest not being adjustable, seat damage, and unsanitary surroundings leading to unsatisfactory comfort, the selected seat product can be returned after verifying the passenger's description.
    (7) If the passenger is unable to book a seat, but the airline arranges for the passenger to take a seat of equal value, higher value, or higher level, the seat selection product is non refundable.
    (8) The refund period for economy class seat selection service products purchased after departure is within 90 days from the departure of the flight. If the booking is cancelled within 90 days or more, cash or mileage will be refunded to the passenger's member account using service compensation. If payment is made using seat selection vouchers, 100% of the seat value (in RMB CNY) will be refunded to the member account using service compensation.
    (9) Passengers who use mileage payment and voluntarily unsubscribe from the product will have their mileage refunded according to the original validity period, and expired mileage will automatically expire and become invalid. Please understand and consider whether you need to book the product based on your own situation; When there is a change in the product due to airline reasons, the expired mileage will be extended for one month.

Service Vouchers

Collection deadline: One year from the date of issue. The vouchers will not be reissued if overdue.
Validity: One year since the date of collection. The unused vouchers will expire after the deadline.
Applicable to: payment for tickets (excluding fuel charge and airport construction fee, etc.only limited to the flights carried by Air China.)
For a single ticket, at most 50% of the ticket price (excluding fuel charge and airport construction fee, etc.) can be compensated by the electronic vouchers.
For an order including several tickets, the total compensation by the electronic vouchers equals to 50% of the cheapest ticket price multiplied by the total number of tickets. For example, if an order includes three tickets valued 1,000 Yuan, 800 Yuan and 700 Yuan, respectively, the total compensation will be 350×3=1050 Yuan.
For an order including tickets for several people, provided that the aforesaid rule is satisfied, the EV used shall be amortized evenly to each ticket and the amount thus deducted shall be an integer multiple of 10. For example, to use 500EV to book for 3 people, each ticket would be deducted by 500/3=166.66…, which after an integer multiple of 10, is 160*3= 480 Yuan.

Rules:
a. A single electronic voucher can be used in part.
b. Several electronic vouchers can be used together.
c. For involuntary ticket refund, the electronic vouchers will be returned in full amount, and the validity will begin from the date of return. For involuntary ticket change, the electronic vouchers can be used in full amount.
d. For voluntary ticket refund, the electronic vouchers will be not returned; For voluntary ticket change or transfer,the electronic vouchers can be used.
e. The electronic vouchers can only be used in the member account of the collector and shall be not transferred, but can be used by the collector to pay tickets for others.
f. The electronic vouchers cannot be used in combination with other coupons.
