①What conditions must my ticket meet in order to book a Preferred Seat?
Economy Class tickets held by an adult or child passenger,
for flights operated by Air China with ticket numbers starting with “999” and flight number starting with “CA”. Codeshare flights are not eligible.

②On which flight routes is the Preferred Seat service provided?
We offer free and Preferred Seat pre-selection options on flights operated by Air China.
The specific details for each flight are shown in your itinerary.
Due to flight safety requirements, we may disable seat pre-selection for some flights. Thank you for your understanding.

③When can I book a Preferred Seat selectionPreferred Seat?
Preferred SeatPaid seat selection is available for some seats from the time you book your ticket until check-in for the flight closes.
If you have already checked in, you will not be able to book a Preferred Seat.
Purchase deadlines for individual flights may be earlier, please refer to the system requirements at the actual time of purchase and the information provided by staff.

Advance Seat Selection Rules

  •      Restrictions
  • 1. Eligible tickets: international tickets with numbers beginning with "999".
    2. Eligible flights: CA-coded non-stop flights operated by Air China (not applicable to codeshare flights).
    3. Eligible fare classes: Economy Class.
    4. Time limit for purchase: from after purchasing ticket until check-in closes. Purchase deadlines for individual flights may be earlier, please refer to the system requirements at the actual time of purchase and the information provided by staff.
    5. Eligible passengers: adults and children.
    6. In line with CAAC regulations, passengers who select emergency exit seats must be aged 15 years of age and over, and 64 years of age and under, meet the relevant conditions, and be willing and able to fulfill the relevant obligations. Please consult the sales channels for detailed requirements. For safety reasons, the backrests of some emergency exit seats may not be adjustable. Please be aware of this when booking.
    7. Not available to book after check-in.
    8.If you are an Air China PhoenixMiles Platinum Card member, you will have the right to choose an economy class seat for free. Please select your seat as soon as possible after purchasing the ticket, the product stock is limited and it is first come first served.
    9.To receive a receipt for the advance seat booking, call 95583-1-5 within 45 days of using the product.
    10.Prices and applicable routes for all Preferred Seat are as shown at the time of booking.
    11.You may request a Preferred Seatpaid seat from staff when checking in at the airport.

  • International direct flights and some connecting flights operated by Air China. Prices and applicable routes for all Preferred Seat are as shown at the time of booking.
    It is not possible to book seats onboard international flight which include domestic segments.
    Self-service channel purchases are not currently available for flights departing from Daegu, Pyongyang, Yangon, and Ulaanbaatar. Onboard seat pre-selection is not currently offered for some open-jaw flights (Beijing–Minsk–Budapest–Beijing, Beijing–Islamabad–Karachi–Beijing). You may request a paid seat from staff when checking in at the airport.
  •       Reminders
  • 1. You can only select a seat on the plane in advance. You must still go through check-in before the flight departs.
    2. Your Preferred Seat may change due to changes to the flight or aircraft type, or actions taken by the airline for safety or operational reasons. We will do our utmost to arrange another seat of equal value for you. If you are moved to a seat of lesser value, you may contact the sales channel through which you purchased the ticket to apply for a refund, or apply for an electronic service voucher of the same value as the purchased seat (including passengers who booked seats using mileage points or vouchers). For guidance on the use of electronic service vouchers, please refer to this link.
    3. Preferred Seat selection currently only supports single seat bookings. When seat adjustments are necessary, seats will also be reserved on a single-seat basis.
    4. Preferred Seat selection product offers you the opportunity to reserve a seat on the flight in advance, allowing you to book a seat with extra leg room or front row seats. However, due to airline safety reasons and special service guarantees, not all seats in Economy Class are available for Preferred Seat. During check-in, some paid seats may be opened up to self-check-in passengers. Please consider whether you need to book a Preferred Seat.
    5. If you successfully book an emergency exit row seat, you will not be able to check-in through self-service channels, and you must instead go to a check-in counter to check in.
    6. If you have any questions when booking or using your Preferred Seat, please make a note of the relevant information (such as screenshots of system errors, boarding passes or photographs), and call 95583 for assistance. Air China will help you to identify the specific issue and provide a solution as quickly as possible.
    7. If you are an Air China PhoenixMiles Platinum Card member, you will have the right to choose an economy class seat for free. Please select your seat as soon as possible after purchasing the ticket, the product stock is limited and it is first come first served.
  •      Regulations for refunds, rescheduling, and endorsements
  • 1.Endorsement and rescheduling or change of seat products is not currently supported. If you need to reschedule your ticket or change your seat, we recommend that you first cancel your seat selection, change the date of your ticket, then re-book your seat on the plane.
    2. Cancellation request:
    (1)Passengers will not be charged a processing fee for cancellations.
    (2)Cancellation requests must be made to the sales channel you originally used to purchase your seat selection.
    (3)Cancellation of reservations for international and Hong Kong, China/Macau, China/Taiwan, China flights can be made up to 48 hours before departure. Passengers may either handle the cancellation themselves via the original purchasing channel, or contact 95583 to process the cancellation. Cancellation of reservations within 48 hours before departure for international and Hong Kong, China/Macau, China/Taiwan, China flights cannot be made. If the passenger has or will apply for a refund for the selected segment, they can contact 95583 to cancel the booking after the original flight has ended.
    (4)Cancellations for domestic flights within China (excluding Hong Kong, China/Macau, China/Taiwan, China) can be made up to 6 hours before departure . Passengers may either handle the cancellation themselves via the original purchasing channel, or contact 95583 to process the cancellation. Cancellations for domestic flights within China (excluding Hong Kong, China/Macau, China/Taiwan, China) within 6 hours before departure is not possible. If the passenger has or will apply for a refund for the selected segment, they can contact 95583 to cancel the booking after the original flight has ended.
    (5)If the passenger does not meet the conditions to be seated in an emergency exit seat, then no cancellation can be made.
    (6)In cases where passengers pay for an upgrade or redeem mileage awards for an upgrade, the product can be canceled.
    In cases where passengers are unable to use the reserved seat, but Air China assigns them another seat of the same value, or a seat of higher value or in a higher class, no refund will be issued.
    (7)For passengers paying with mileage who wish to cancel the order, the miles will be returned according to their original period of validity, while miles that have already expired will be automatically invalidated. Please be aware of this and consider how it applies to you when booking this product. In the event of changes to the product owing to reasons of the airline, miles which have expired will be extended by one month.
    (8)For passengers who are dissatisfied with the comfort level due to reasons such as the inability to use the seat service bell, air conditioning port malfunction, lighting malfunction, entertainment equipment malfunction, inability to adjust the seat back, and damage to the seat, the selected seat product can be returned after verifying the passenger's description.
    (9)If the refund conditions for Economy class seat cancellation are met, the deadline for refunds is 12 months from the date of purchase.
    (10)For cancellations made within 90 days (not inclusive) of the departure of a flight, the payment made by the passenger (including cash, mileage or vouchers) will be returned to the original payment method. For cancellations made more than 90 days (inclusive) after departure, the payment will be returned to your account in the form of a voucher.

Service Vouchers

Collection deadline: One year from the date of issue. The vouchers will not be reissued if overdue.
Validity: One year since the date of collection. The unused vouchers will expire after the deadline.
Applicable to: payment for tickets (excluding fuel charge and airport construction fee, etc.only limited to the flights carried by Air China.)
For a single ticket, at most 50% of the ticket price (excluding fuel charge and airport construction fee, etc.) can be compensated by the electronic vouchers.
For an order including several tickets, the total compensation by the electronic vouchers equals to 50% of the cheapest ticket price multiplied by the total number of tickets. For example, if an order includes three tickets valued 1,000 Yuan, 800 Yuan and 700 Yuan, respectively, the total compensation will be 350×3=1050 Yuan.
For an order including tickets for several people, provided that the aforesaid rule is satisfied, the EV used shall be amortized evenly to each ticket and the amount thus deducted shall be an integer multiple of 10. For example, to use 500EV to book for 3 people, each ticket would be deducted by 500/3=166.66…, which after an integer multiple of 10, is 160*3= 480 Yuan.

Rules:
a. A single electronic voucher can be used in part.
b. Several electronic vouchers can be used together.
c. For involuntary ticket refund, the electronic vouchers will be returned in full amount, and the validity will begin from the date of return. For involuntary ticket change, the electronic vouchers can be used in full amount.
d. For voluntary ticket refund, the electronic vouchers will be not returned; For voluntary ticket change or transfer,the electronic vouchers can be used.
e. The electronic vouchers can only be used in the member account of the collector and shall be not transferred, but can be used by the collector to pay tickets for others.
f. The electronic vouchers cannot be used in combination with other coupons.
