I. Applicable Conditions
1. Applicable Conditions for Standby
1) Applicants for standby ticketing must be registered users of the Air China APP. Users should register and log into the APP before applying for standby.
2) Standby orders are only available for adult passengers, and not available for children and infants.
3) Standby orders are limited to the logged-in user or the assignee under the account.
4) Passenger information cannot be modified during the standby, inquiry, confirmation and payment processes. Please check the passenger information in [My Center] - [Common Information] before making a standby order to avoid any mistakes to prevent passenger's check-in at the airport.
5) The standby cannot be completed if there is already a standby order for the same passenger for the same flight on the same date.
6) Standby orders for multiple passengers can be made at the same time, but cannot be partially redeemed.
2. Applicable Conditions for Flight
APP users who have registered and logged in can only inquire about flights meeting the following three conditions at the same time. Otherwise, they will not be able to view available standby flights on the flight selection page.
1) Applicable flights refer to domestic flights operated by Air China with CA flight numbers, including direct and stopover flights, please refer to the "Available Standby Economy Class" listed on the flight selection page when booking tickets.
2) This function is only available for APP users to stand by for single economy class (Y class) on domestic flights within China (excluding Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan).
3) The standby time range is from 15 days before the flight departure (excluding) to 24 hours before the flight departure (including), and when the economy class (Y class) seats are sold out at the time of inquiry. The standby deadline is 24 hours before the flight departure (excluding), and standby is not available within 24 hours before the flight departure.
II. Payment
1. The payment amount includes the full fare and taxes for the economy class (Y class) of the flight the user has applied for standby.
2. If the flight price changes after the user completes the payment, the final ticket price shall be the payment amount at the time when the user submitted his standby application.
III. Standby Status
Users can check the status of the standby order through the Air China APP [My Center] - [Flight Order] - [All].
1. To be Paid
For standby orders that have not been paid, users can check and continue the payment process in [My Center] - [Flight Order] - [All].
2. On Standby
After the user completes the payment or activates the standby function, they will enter the flight standby list. The standby order is based on the time when the user successfully pays or activates the standby function.
3. Standby Suspension
If the same passenger has multiple standby orders on the same date and route, the issuance of one ticket on the standby orders will make other standby orders automatically suspended. To re-enable the standby function for other orders, please refund the ticket and manually activate the standby in [My Center] - [All Orders].
4. Ticket Issued (Standby Successful)
If a user's standby is successful, the system will automatically complete the pre-authorization settlement and issue the ticket. After the ticket is issued, the user will receive an SMS from 【Air China】95583 for notification of the successful issuance of the ticket. Please keep your communication device unobstructed.
5. Standby Cancellation
1) Before the ticket on standby order is issued, users can check and cancel the order through the Air China APP [My Center] – [Flight Order] – [All], and the system will send an SMS for notification of the cancellation of the order.
2) Users who have not successfully obtained a ticket after the standby deadline will have their standby order and pre-authorization payment automatically canceled by the system half an hour after the standby deadline, and receive a notification via SMS.
3) After the pre-authorization payment is canceled by the system, the limit of the credit card used for paying the standby order will be restored at the time limit set by the issuing bank of the user's credit card.
IV. Conditions for Ticket Usage
1. After the successful issuance of a ticket, please use it according to the ticket regulations of the cabin class (Y class) you purchased. Please carefully read the usage conditions displayed below the standby button on the flight list page when making the standby order.
2. Tickets successfully issued through standby orders can apply to the refund rules for mistaken purchases within 2 hours of ticket issuance. For refunds after 2 hours of ticket issuance, the refund will be calculated according to the corresponding cabin ticket rules and subjected to a refund handling fee.
V. Restrictions
1. This function cannot be used in conjunction with other promotional products and sales campaigns.
2. This function does not support the reservation of special meals and various special services.
3. A passenger can have standby orders on the same route for up to 3 consecutive dates.
VI. Disclaimer for Standby Function
1. Air China reserves the right to adjust or cancel the applicable flights, specific times, content, and details of this function at any time without notice according to the actual needs of this feature, and reserves the final interpretation of this function.
2. Credit card liability: The issuing bank of the credit card shall be responsible for the delay in restoring the user's credit card limit due to bank reasons.
Friendly Reminder:
 The flight time on standby may be adjusted due to airline reasons or force majeure. Please refer to the actual flight information displayed in the ticket after ticket issuance.
 Only when there are enough available seats released from the sold-out flight you applied for, can you have a ticket successfully issued through a standby order. Passengers with specific requirements on travel time should consider whether to use the standby function.
 Once you have completed the pre-authorized payment, you will enter the standby status. When seats become available on the flight, the system will automatically issue tickets for standby passengers according to the order of their successful payment time. If you consider other travel options, please be sure to cancel your standby order as soon as possible. Once a ticket is successfully issued, you may be subject to losses according to the ticket's terms and conditions if there are any changes or refunds.
