    Ticket changes
    For changes requested up to 48 hours before departure, seat reservation charges will be fully refunded. The full refund policy is set out below.
     
     
     
    Pursuant to the rules of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC):
    Passengers seated in emergency exit seats must be aged 15–64, satisfy emergency exit seating requirements, and be able and willing to assist in the event of an emergency. For more information, please contact the place where you bought your ticket. If, during airport check-in, it is found that you do not meet the emergency exit seat requirements, your seat reservation charge will not be refunded. Before booking, please note that for safety reasons, the seat backs on some emergency exit seats are not adjustable.
    Advance seat selection is unavailable if you have already checked in. Please cancel check-in first and then select a seat.
    Booking Time Limit
    Passengers fly on Air China international flights can purchase seat with more legroom through all Air China's direct sales channels before the check-in counter is closed. Seat selection purchase deadlines for individual flights may be earlier, subject to system requirements. Please check with staff for updates.
         Eligible routes
  • Air China-operated non-stop and direct international flights. Prices and route eligibility criteria shown at the time of purchase will apply for all paid seat selections.
    Advance seat selection is unavailable on international flights that include a domestic segment.
    Advance seat selection is unavailable through self-service channels for flights originating in Daegu, Pyongyang, Yangon and Ulaanbaatar. Advance seat selection is also unavailable on some open-jaw itineraries (e.g. Beijing - Minsk - Budapest - Beijing; Beijing - Islamabad - Karachi - Beijing). If you are unable to select a seat in advance, you can still request a paid seat during airport check-in.
  •      Terms and conditions:
  • 1.Your paid seat reservation might change as a result of flight schedule or aircraft changes, or for safety or operational reasons. If we cannot honour your original reservation, we will do our best to assign you another seat in the same price bracket. If your new seat is in a lower price bracket, you can request a refund from the place of purchase, plus compensation for the full value of the seat reservation charge.
    2.The Advance Seat Selection service is currently only available for single seat reservation. When the seat needs to be adjusted, single seat protection will also be offered.
    3.Advance seat selection is an optional service that lets you book your preferred seat in advance. For example, you can reserve a seat with extra legroom, or a regular seat. For safety and operational reasons, not all Economy Class seats can be reserved in advance. During check-in, some paid seats will also be released for other passengers that wish to use self-service check-in.
    4.If you reserve an emergency exit seat, you must check in at the airport check-in counters; self-service check-in will be unavailable.
    5.Where available, Premium Economy seats are located immediately in front of standard Economy Class. Therefore, the first row of Economy Class may not offer extra legroom. If you require an Economy Class seat with extra legroom, please book an emergency exit seat.
    6.If you encounter any issues when buying or using advance seat selection products, please be sure to save all relevant information (for example, system error report screenshots, boarding passes, or photos, etc.) and call 95583 to make an enquiry. Air China will assist you verifying the situation and finding a solution as soon as possible.
    Rules on refunds, changes and endorsements
    1. Endorsements: Not permitted
    2. Changes: Not permitted You must first cancel your seat reservation (see refund policy below) before you can change your ticket. After changing the date of your ticket you can make a new seat reservation. In an emergency or exceptional circumstances, you can change your ticket before cancelling the seat reservation; please keep a copy of your seat reservation confirmation for reference. After changing your ticket, call 95583 to cancel the seat reservation. A full refund will still be issued for eligible requests.When rebooking after a free seat pre-selection, the seat number cannot be guaranteed, you must first unsubscribe from the original booking channel, then rebooking the ticket and the seat.
    3. Refunds
    ●Refunds must be requested from the original place of purchase.
    ●A full refund will be issued free of charge up to 48 hours before departure. You can request a refund directly from the place of purchase, or call 95583.
    ●Refunds will not be issued if requested 48 hours or less before departure, or when the flight has already departed. If you are going to refund a segment or already refunded a segment which purchased with a preferred seat, the fee of preferred seat can be refunded with no other charge. Please wait until your original flight has landed and then call 95583 to request a refund.
    ●Please carefully read the requirements before booking an emergency exit seat. A refund will not be offered if it is found that you do not meet the requirements.
    ●If you request a paid or award upgrade, we will refund your seat reservation charge at no additional cost. Please wait until your flight has landed and then call 95583 to request a refund.
    ●If you are not able to sit in your reserved seat, but we assign you another seat in the same price bracket, a higher price bracket, or a higher booking class, your seat reservation charge will not be refunded.
    ●You can make eligible refund requests up to 12 months after the date of purchase.
