Upon submission of an online request for a standby alteration or booking reservation by a PhoenixMiles member,
Air China will take into account seat availability on the flight and the order of submission,
in order to inform eligible passengers to proceed with their alterations or booking reservations.

Starting today, a new round of "Standby Alterations" and "Booking Reservations" is open for registration. Using the previously provided registration information for standby alterations and booking reservations, we will soon send a text message notification to passengers whose submissions were unsuccessful in the previous round, informing them to "renew" their request. Please check your messages and follow the instructions to renew your request as soon as possible. Upon renewal, your previously submitted registration information is still valid and will be queued using the original registration order. The Standby Alterations and Booking Reservations Status Checker automatically updates queue positions at the start of each day. Queue positions change dynamically as passengers renew their requests. Should seats, added flights or recovered routes for Air China international become available, we will inform you in a timely manner. Please make sure that we are able to reach you via your cell phone.

Standby alterations are only available for international flights that and are operated by Air China from foreign countries/Hong Kong, China to Chinese Mainland as well as some out-bound flights depart from Chinese Mainland. Air China will use your reservation information for ticket identification, and give priority to process tickets which the flight listed on the original ticket is canceled and applies for the first change. Open for sale flights cannot be reserved, please follow system prompts.

Booking reservations are only available for flights from foreign countries/Hong Kong, China to Chinese Mainland and parts of out-bound flights depart from Chinese Mainland operated by Air China. Open for sale flights cannot be reserved, please follow system prompts.

The contact person for the reservation must be a PhoenixMiles member, and reservation accounts need to complete real-name authentication in advance. You can renew the reservations for three persons (including yourself), and you can only make "standby alternations" or "booking reservations" for those three persons (including deleted ones) in the future.

You can add a maximum of two accompanying persons to the same flight itinerary. If you are traveling with a child or infant, you will also need to apply for a reservation for the child or infant passengers.
After you receive the SMS of the availability of booking tickets, please contact the Air China hotline at 95583 to confirm whether the flight has enough infant quota. After confirming that the number of infants on the flight is sufficient, you can book adult tickets according to the guidance in the SMS, and then contact 95583 to book infant tickets.

For passengers who select "Travel Early" when booking, we will notify you when there are available flights; if you do not select this option, we will notify you when there are available flights in the month you expect to travel.If the desired travel time you selected has passed, so as not to affect the validity of your standby ticket alternation or booking reservation, please follow the APP message center to update the desired travel time and renew as soon as possible.

Upon successful submission of your standby alteration request, you may receive a call, a text message or a push notification from Air China customer service staff to confirm your alteration when there are available seats, added flights or recovered routes for your desired flight. Air China will announce the available periods for applications depending on the seat availability for the flight:
(1) Standby alternations for international tickets: Passengers must hold a valid ticket for an Air China-operated flight with a ticket number preceded by 999. Standby alteration requests may incur additional fees depending on the specific details of the notification you receive. If you have already been processed a refund for your ticket, you are not eligible to apply for a standby alteration.
(2) Booking reservations for international tickets: You can apply for booking tickets before August 31, 2023. During this ticket booking period, the passenger can apply for multiple national routes, but only one valid reservation record is allowed in one country.

If you have successfully altered your ticket, please board the plane at the correct time, as indicated by the altered flight schedule. If you are unable to board the plane on time and apply for a second standby alteration, standard alteration fees will apply in accordance with the conditions of use of the ticket.

In compliance with the requirements of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), international tickets for Air China flights can only be purchased through Air China direct sales channels. Please make sure to apply on the Air China app or via the Air China WeChat public account to avoid the potential economic losses resulting from applications made through other channels.
